Why don't you spend 5 quid down B&Q and buy a large flower pot. Fill it with sand and put it outside your back door. Then she can put her stubs in there and never worry your drain again!? Real easy to clean out as well...

My MIL is nice as well. Then again, they had my OH when real young, so my in-laws are only about 8 years older than me Shocked

Call me naive...but I just assumed that she was putting them in the bin since they weren't on the patio. Rolling Eyes

It took me all of 2 mins to get an empty flower pot out of the shed when I found out....but apparently I just have a vendetta against her and putting the butts down the drain in no way contributed to it becomeing blocked. This from somebody who knows as much about drains as England know about cricket. Rolling Eyes

Mother in laws cannot be killed by conventional methods.

If a silver bullet cannot be found then chopping into small pieces and burying in the aforementioned flowerpot would seem to be a fair and reasonable method.

FWIW. my MIL has been great at propping up our patio for years now....

oh dear I just said all that out loud...

i am the expert -or not so as my MIL was with us for 8 months earlier this year!!!! Evil or Very Mad

there's just nothing you can do about them, they have skin as hard as nails and can't take a hint if it jumped up and bit them on the nose!!!

that would be my mother she is on about Shocked
as for getting rid of them for a while you could of instance
1) have an affair
2) smack your wife
3) smack your mil
or 4) and probably the more sensible one would be to get close to her it will get worse before it gets better but then on new years eve say around 11:59pm just sexually suggest you move your conversation somewhere quieter. BINGO you will get what you want....if not then you find yourself in a very sticky situation. good luck

...I'd offer to swop her for my MIL but I don't think it would do either of us any benefit - they come with the territory called 'marriage' - you can't have one without the other!!

Get some paint pots and dust sheets out and make like you are going to paint the room she is staying in. Alternatively set up the turbo in her room and have an early morning session in the room with her Wink

Cobbie -

I came up with a "starter for ten" list of sure-fire ways to get in-laws out - in the thread about Bex's visitation.

I'll try to find it.
