Did my last tri of the season yesterday Crying or Very sad It seems like ages until next April /May and there's a long winter of cold dark nights and training in the cold and rain to come. All a bit depressing really.

Has anyone got any races left? Might have to start looking at some duathlons, Aquathlons or even just some straightforward running.

Any suggestions for making winter bearable?

How did your race go mate?

I have kingston 8mile sunday, dry-tri (civil service) week after, xc-10k (civil service) in early nov and luton marathon 7 dec. Never done an aquathon but might look around too.

race went great except for the transitions. Took 2 minutes (fighting with my top again) in T1. T2 was in a different place to T1 and when I got there I couldn't remember where I'd put my trainers, and all you could see were rows and rows of trainers. The word di*khead springs to mind. Swim was a bit slow at about 7:20 for 400m - I was last in my heat out of the pool but was in 2nd place by the end of the bike and held onto that on the run. Don't know yet where I finished overall, but will find out in about six weeks probably when they post the results out - apparently there's no email in Rhayader. I didn't make a note of my bike and run splits. Nicest T shirt of the season though.

I envy you having all those races planned and must get my act together and get some more races sorted. Looks like the civil service have got loads of stuff for you guys to take part in. Does that mean that as a taxpayer I'm actually paying for you to be an even faster triathlete?

I did my first 10 k run yesterday and have a few of those booked over the winter. I also saw that there is an indoor tri at the tri run show in feb. its rowing but at least it will keep me from eating cake over the winter.

Thought I may give it a go as it is at Sandown which is local to me.

Wondered where your race report was slowpoke Smile (I can use these to you if ed's not watching Shocked ) It is depressing isn't it but there are "things" out there. I'll be doing running plus keeping a base for cycling and swimming ( trying to better my swimming Cool )
I've Beachy Head Marathon in less than 3 weeks now, nothing else signed up for but cross-country season has started so feel I should run for the club -don't really know why, I think I make up the numbers Confused Thinking about the Crowborough 10k, also thinking of the big hill that you encounter twice Shocked
We'll have to make it bearable by spuring each other on via posts Very Happy Have to motivate, advise, ask, be interested, be kind (ed) -any other ideas Question
Whose going first Wink

ps Sandown was good last year, I enjoyed the talks as well, flitted between them. Maybe we should all meet up there next year Cool
Well done on your 1st 10k anna Very Happy . I prefer the longer "plodder" races but need to keep the shorter distance going for Tri's

Dunno 'bou you guys but I'm on a scuba diving mission next - first the lessons next weekend, then diving in the caribbean in November.

After that, it's the xmas party marathon for a month, followed by the post-post-season / pre-pre-season training - de rigeur for getting rid of the Homer Simpson butt! Embarassed
