Yep, I'll be doing this one. I hope to do a couple sprint distance events before August but this will be my first Olympic distance race. The trainings going well and I'm looking forward to the big day.

I'm gonna boing this one back up. I'm doing the oly.
Only 3 weeks to go. What are people going to do in these final few weeks?
My training has been sporadic and certainly not what I would have wanted to do and I can't train at all this weekend due to my brother-in-law's wedding. I was thinking of doing a long bike session (40 miles?) on Sunday week (27th) am I mad? My OH reckons I should just do 2 sessions of race distance for each discipline, and maybe a shorter brick session, for the next two weeks and then taper.
I think I will probably just go watch...
However...does anyone know if there are still places available in the sub 2:30 one which they are putting on??
If not then I wll go watch Lessing win his umpteenth London Tri...hahaha

Spen,
The website says there are still places for sub 2:30 http://www.thelondontriathlon.com for details. Also the phone number for the race office is 020 7559 2929.
And anyone in the 30-35 age category? It'll be my first race in this age-group. I've heard the standard actualyl goes up slightly here...!
Looking forward to taking people on who I know started at the same time as me - rare treat. My target is now sub2:20.
The 30 -34 age group is probably the hardest of the lot, there are always more people going for the GB team in that age group than any other.
I will leave it till I have done salford and see how that goes, if I do well then I might just give it a go..the course is a flat one so good times will be the order of the day..
Yes I remember the bike course. Apart from the ramp leading into and out of transition its flat as a pancake on closed roads with just roundabouts to negotiate

I may be there to watch you guys - didn't feel confident to swim in the docks yet but if it's good for spectators, I might be able to get some decent photos to put on the website!
who is doing it, which wave, what time do you expect/hope for, and what will you be cycling+wearing (just in case we bump into each other (not literally i hope ))

I'm in the first mixed group (1:50pm ) I'll be wearing a purple and white Sugoi top and black shorts. As for how long I expect/hope for... it's my first oly, so my first aim is to finish, then under 4 hours, then under 3:30. I'm very, very slow.
I plan to get there really early so I can watch everyone else, so see you there...
Why the sad face? I'd love to start later on and get bit more bed-time!
I'm still quite glad I'm off just before 10am though, makes a nice change. ALso, not having to lug my bike across london is a blessing (well not ON the day anyway)

The sad face is 'cos I'll have all morning to panic about it and 'cos I'm so slow everyone will have gone by the time I finish. I just hope the marshalls and timers are still there!
Have you done the London tri before? Has anyone here done it before? Any tips? What is the expo like? Is it any good for spectators?
