The provisional date for 2004 is the 25th of July. Keep that date free in your diary. Great things are planned to make the Salford ITU World Cup race even better for 2004.

it's unfortunate that Salford is so close to London. That Late July / early August part of the calendar is really crowded, but I seem to remember that Oly distance races in September are hard to find.

You should be ok to do both if you train and taper well. But I reckon you'll only be around 80-90% fit for london if you go flat out at salford.

That's OK, be 10-20% fitter than everyone else.

I should be a strategist.

Well, I'd like to. I'm OK for Duathlons, but swimming is a bit of a mystery to me.

Is Salford a good Tri to begin with ?

London is timed perfectly for post-TLD peak, but Salford? Absolutely no way! Too much, too soon! Maybe next, next year (2005), when I choose a different ironman (or sanity is restored and I don't do one at all!)

BB.

Me too. London was bad enough with the weather conditions this year, but to do it after TLD and Salford.....eeeek!

Connor,
I'll be doing Salford. Did it this year and it's my "manor" so to speak. Most of the Manchester Tri Club members will be doing it or marshalling.
It was a great day and hopefully will be even better next year.
Chris.

Very Happy I remember it well, Connor. There's a time when you have a night off. You are the only person in the house that's awake, and you start going stir crazy (it's not as if you can nip out to the pub). At about 4-5.00am, you just think "sod it" and start filling in all those applications.
