My names FST and....well, I started when I was young cause the other kids were doing it. you know. then before long I was training on my own when the others were going out with girls. In the end I was doing more and more just to....well you know.. Very Happy Very Happy

Sometimes I used to find myself borrowing money off me mum and dad to buy things that I though would make my workouts easier. All my aunty's 'n' uncles used to buy me bike tyres and inner tubes for my birthday pressies. Think they knew all along but were afraid to say anything Shocked

Then I met my good friend 'triathlon'. Smile Suddenly, I knew I was no longer alone. We used to all get together for a big binge at weekends and spend the rest of the week just getting over it. I liked the binges so much I went on one when I was 22 and....well have never stop ya know.

Today I know I am not alone. I know I will never be cured but basically what the hell - beats getting fat, boring and forced reps to B&Q and Homebase. Wink

I've just spent a fortune on set of HED alps, I'm about to order some new tyre's for said wheels, a new cassette and 2 new pairs of trainers. Very Happy

I've spent over 400 entering HIMUK & IMFL Exclamation

I've booked the flights to Florida, ordered the hire car, and got the accomodation booked for sherborne Shocked

All in all I've spent the best part 2,500 in the last 2 weeks on my "hobby"
I'll probably spend another 500 on entering further race's.

I've promised the wife the spending will stop after that. It will need to otherwise I'll be bankrupt Exclamation Exclamation

My wife keeps asking me why I couldn't have chosen a hobby which is cheap Question

Darryl,

luckily no I'm not going down to TCR. My HED alps turned up this afternoon, it only took 4 days to get them over from the states. A bit dissapointed that they don't come with skewers though.

My wife thought that they came with tyres and cassette, she wasn't to impressed. Very Happy

Darryl,

Depends on currency rates but I got mine delivered for 580, which is a hell of alot cheaper than anyone can do them for in the UK.

I'll rephrase that, I couldn't find them in the Uk for under 740 Exclamation so a considerable saving Exclamation Very Happy

Just ordered myself an Oregon RP109 HRM which is a little on the exy side but what else do I do with me days - apart from work when the need arises.

Bought a couple of things lately, some extra cusioning insoles for my trainers. But they shoes still feel the same to me. Oh well. Some funny devices to stop my laces undoing when I'm running, and a nice Helly Hanson hat to keep my head warm.
