On the subject of car parking in Windsor, the Alma Road car park, which is only a few minutes walk from the pool is 5.50 for 5 hours parking. There's less spaces, but then again there's probably less people foolish enough to be in Windsor at 8am in weather like this!

Hope this helps.

Just set up base here in Windsor. The entrance road to the pool is a little icy but all the other roads in town and the motorways are fine.

Look forwards to meeting you guys over the next few days!

Just landed at Windsor - good news for those driving, if you tell reception you're on the swimsmooth course you can get a free parking permit for the day Smile

cheers for info on roads and parking situation.

could be interested in the morning as local roads round here already an icerink. Hoping some extra weight in the boot will give me some more traction, failing that I'll be on the train.

suggest people set off early to allow contingency.

did you take your own "foam stretch / flexibility mat" or did the leisure center provide them?

We didn't actually need them. Two or three of us were asked to lie on the floor to demonstrate a couple of things and we didn't use mats. I'd say you're more than safe to leave it at home.

There wasn't a need for them for what we did.

Just re-read the kit list and realised that fins are on there. I don't have any.

Given that I can't use fins at any of the pools that I swim at, do I need to get some bought or not?

They had a limited number for use for those without.
