Anyone else experienced short runs when running on a track?

Happened a couple of times now but today was a bit daft. Did 16 laps of a 400m track and it tracked it at 4.5km.

Wouldn't normally care too much but i ran a (personal) blinder today!

No wonder you went quick if the track was that short.

As ever, the device is cutting the curve

Depending on your device, setting it to record every second will be the best you can do. Other than that, it'll never be properly accurate as stated above.

Right so i'm not going mad and losing track of things as i run then.

Suppose i'll just have to go with the ever trusty stop watch. Even more determined to improve on that time now

I did have to double check the stadium measurements. I'm fully assured that the Harvey Hadden stadium is a full 400m track!

What device are you using? When I record my track sessions, my Garmin always records it long (which is roughly as I'd expect as I'm not hugging the inside bend).

Just using my phone so nothing fancy. Works OK when cycling the cycle track which is 3 times longer.

It's no bother though as I know the distance covered just a shame it's not recording right
