Just beginning my swimming training after deciding to attempt my first tri. The event isn't until the end of April and i'm looking for any tips on how to improve my 400m time.

When i first timed myself i did it in 9.36 mins but in only a week and with a slight change to my technique i managed to take that down to 8.47 mins.

has anyone got a training plan i can follow or tips on what kind of drills i should be doing to improve my time even more.

Go buy the Total Immerson book or DVD. It's very, very good - managed to get me down to 6mins for a 400m sprint race.
