they did it in the slateman too, they will in their own results page not in the main one so 3 races - sprint, 400m long course and 1000m long course

Gusty and wet - all sounds familiar!

I may just chicken out and go for the road bike then!

Smile

I'm now wondering if the swim will be more hilly than Bala...

Did The Sandman today and I've got to say what a fantastic event it was. Well organised, great course, well marshalled, results available straight after the event and an extensive and prize list.

Well done to the guys at Always Aim High on a very successful inaugural Anglesey Sandman!

Yes it was a good event - shame about the poor weather at the start that soaked everything Sad and the flash rain in the middle of my bike! And I've caught the sun - I'm not sure how LOL

Swim was nice and flat apart from a few comedy waves...

Run - nice and scenic, although leg sapping Smile - water was need earlier than 4 miles (which I think was realised!)

Bike - fast but a bit procession like in places. I would imagine the draft buster was busy as I saw him alot and saw a lot of drafting too Sad - some intentional some just due to the mass start. I went for the road bike option and was glad of this due to the wind and during the downpour Smile

I will definitely do it again - although it was hard! Harder than I thought it would be!

My second triathlon and am pleased i made the trip.

To start with the marshalls on the road junction guiding you to the forest - excellent. Marshalls giving you information on the way in - excellent.

Car parking seemed very good for competitors (free). i got there at 1015 and didnt have any issues, again the marshalls guiding people into spaces.

Registration was straight forward, bit of a queue but fast moving.

Goody bag - could be better (competitors always like free stuff Wink, got a thing for stickers personally.) - not an issue though.

Transition - good although would like more matting if poss due to the gravel etc but maybe just be a wuss.

Race briefing - loud, clear, informative.

Swim

comedy waves...
couldnt have put it better.

Bike - the course was good, no real hills yet the wind, undulations and on one part the tarmac just sucked the power out. Personally went too hard i thought on the bike, tired legs etc and had a few people infront i seemed to be chasing for 20 miles. I made it 37 miles in total

Run - as much as i dislike running the course seemed a good one, a few fire road hills within the first 5km but overall seemed a good run route with the last .5km ish over a dune - across the beach to the finish.

I came in at 3hr07 and was wearing a blue gilet for the bike and run in case anyone saw me.

Constructive critiscism for organisers - erm give me a minute........ yep the water could be moved in the run to early on as mentioned by SwimsLikeAWalrus. The wife says that the food tent ran out of sausage butties to soon.

Overall a very good event, one i will attend in the future.

I did the sprint and loved it and the setting. Great seeing Snowdonia on the long straight from the village.
First tri of the year following achilles problems, so my run was a killer.
Buggered
Found the bike hard especially getting to the village as I'd really pushed the swim.
I thought the stops and starts and cross overs on run/bike would have been a problem but they were fine and well marshalled.
Thanks to all organisers and marshalls - great event! Very Happy

Sorry Ben never managed to say I was!

A mini race report would be

Swim -shortened but excellent. They said the water was warm and indeed it was (much more so than last year!). Waves were not comedy this year but big hence the shortened swim. However once you were in it was not dissimilar to anything Bala has to offer.

Bike - windy, windy, windy. Too windy. Deep section wheels would be a no no and my slightly deeper than normal rims made for 'exciting' moments!

Run - it is a lovely run. Especially the final stretch down the beach. Like Harlech if you've ever done that.

My time shocked me at the finish. Not in a good way either.
I threw a coat in as an after thought and put it on during the bike when I began to get cold. Good move!

Fab t shirt again too!
