Thanks RuthE, what a great idea for a thread. As Ruth explained, you swim 50m, note the time and add that to your stroke count. It's a trade off between technique and speed to get a low score. I'll kick off:

50 seconds for two lengths and 17 strokes per length is a swim golf score of:

84.

Shocked

I guess I'll need to work out what "par" should be for the 30.5m pool I use...

The book say that for 50 yards ( I think 55yards = 50m)

Raasonably good swimmer = 80 (40 strokes and 40 seconds)
A 'duffer' = 90
Serious swimmers (Delboy?) = 60

As 50 m is just 10% further than 50 yards iso increase numbers and we have :

Duff = 99
Good =88
Super =66

(and for 30.5m pool D = 61 G = 54 S =40)

Not sure if you are allowed to translate score like this but hey!

last week at swim session we were doing 50's for our main set and counting heart rate and stroke count. My last set was 38secs and s/c also 38......which makes 76.

in my defence that was at the end of at 750 set.

we have done fast 75s in the club sessions where i managed 1:10 (only narrowly avoiding being sick at the end) but i have no idea what my stroke count would have been in that case!

Sorry Ruth, I was just being juvenile and didn't mean to make you embarrased. I've deleted my post as well.
