bike looks good

swim will be a bummer if you can only breath to one side

run - 509m of climbing is tough, but not a killer

and its just a long slow fade into darkness, and your eyes adjust. whats the problem again Very Happy

shame bike doesnt go up Povington Hill past Tyneham but they cant praps guarantee it'll be open. Tour of Wessex uses it no bother - on a Saturday in late May.

The ranges are open all August so it shouldn't be a problem (if they weren't the run course wouldn't be possible!)

I know the bike route from mile 20 to 82 like the back of my hand, all a nice ride on a Sunday but racing mile 42 to 57 is imo hazardous it mentions You need to be an experienced and confident cyclist for this event some of that, balls to the wall etc could get dangerous

Anyway 250 quid !!! really ?

I wonder if they'll do a non transport option? might even be able to russel up a few people to do aid stations

"Balls to the wall" in a hilly Ironman bike leg prior to a hilly trail marathon? Not that likely!

About the same as the South Downs marathon then?

On the bike leg, I think the 10 minutes "lost" by not crashing may be irrelevant to most people's "race"

Having done this stretch on the JCC (and in this direction) some of the climbs are very steep. Up and down like a tarts draws. Practice with lots of steps. Did you not do the Oner Veggieboy?
