I am a huge fan. The way he is sacrificing himself, and his reputation, to ensure a cleaner sport for the generations to come is nothing short of astonishing. It shows balls, and I for one would like to see him martyred.

Couldnt really GAF TBH. However from a Tri point of view (Because I had no involvement with any of the sports up until I started Tri 3 years ago, I only really knew of him as a famous name and not much else) to come where he does in the races takes someone with outstanding athletic, mental and technical ability and therefore my respect is there for him now in that respect. Would would have thought that he would be clean doing these Tri's right? Thus I am not a 'fan' of LA but I would go out and see him in a Tri and have respect for the athele he is now, I am a bigger fan of the Brownlees.

I think it is unlikely that Lance did his tri's clean. He has always been a doper, so why stop when he started tri? He is still working with Ferrari, who was his doping doctor.

There are moments from his Tours that are simply awesome - his cyclocrossing in 2003, 'the Look' in 2001, him vs Pantani, etc were amazing, and will always remain great Tour moments.

Oh, and there's always Dodgeball too!

No interested in that. If you were never a fan then recent events won't have changed your opinion. If you want to do a poll of 'Were you ever a Lance fan?' knock yourself out. Wink

I've said my piece on a few threads but kept out of the recent stuff deliberately:
- I think it's a waste of money going after LA now
- I think the process to reduce bans for other cyclists to testify against somebody who's retired is stupid and unfair
- To go after LA and not go after everybody else makes a mockery of the system

I've voted 'fan' because I still admire his achievements - fan is going rather too far as I've also always thought he was a total knob (which of course doesn't affect his cycling). Having realised some considerable time ago that this he was almost certainly doping and that I still admired him came as a bit of a shock to me - I put it down to:
- Everybody else of any note was doing it ... and had been for years (let's not be naive here Smile )
- If other sports were to test at the same level I bet we'd see comparable levels of doping. We got an inkling of this with the tennis nandralone situation and I'd bet money that if every premiership footballer was surprise tested this week we'd see 1-10% fails.
- Most importantly, I still think he did a lot for cycling and his off-road trip is probably the most impressive pro sporting achievement I've seen

Just my opinion as always Smile

I'm not 'still' a Lance fan, as I never was a fan in the first place. Schadenfreude of course, but all the people I had to defend myself to have stopped asking me to now...
