Up at Loch Long next to Loch Lomond.

Has anyone any experience of this or planning to do any of the events?

They have a Sprint & Olympic on 11th May and on 12th have a HIM & IM.

I just registered for the Oly as it fits my dates perfectly and realised I'm the only entrant for all 4 tri's !!

I would advise extreme caution if wishing to take part in this race. Not on the grounds of the location, or the water temperature but with regards the organisers.

It appears that they are the same people who "organised" the St. Andrew's triathlon earlier this year. Subsequently Tri Scotland revoked the sanctioning of the other races this organiser had planned. Many many people are still waiting for refunds.

This thread will explain all.

Wow... only posted my concerns 20 minutes ago and I'm getting lots of PMs, emails & Facebook messages asking what proof of connection between St Andrew's Triathlon fiasco and the new events posted on Entry Central.

Here you go.

Alan As facts are all wrong. We are not Vigour events... we are NRG Events.

If anyone has any concerns why not email us directly?

can you clarify that NRG has nothing to do with the other company...... just to reassure us........no directors in common...no organisers in common etc......

i take it your not anything to do with XNRG events....can you please also let us know which races you have organised previously so that it can be seen you have the experience to organise an Ironman distance race.............would not want to train all year for one if it is hasn't got the logistics in place.......sounds a lovely part of the country.........

also a link to teh website with all the info on would be brilliant

Thank You

Sounds a great race in a superb location, but can you please address our concerns as to the organizer ?

Is this Elaine Smith who registered the nationalracegroup.com web address the same Elaine Smith that was the PA for Robert Hamilton and involved with the ill fated St Andrews Tri and Discover Swimming ?

If it is a different person I apologize for bringing this up and will delete this message.

Yes it is the same Elaine.

The reason she left what was then 'multisport' was due to her concerns in regards to safety, organisation and generally Robert Hamilton's attitude towards making money.

We are a new company which should not be held accountable for another companies mistakes. As I'm sure anyone who was at St Andrews or Campbelltown will know, Elaine tried her hardest to salvage RHs event with no money or support.

We at NRG Events are looking to run successful events year after year. Our main 3 main goals are safety, value for money and professionalism.

We have put a large investment into this company to train staff, buy safety craft, goody bags, prizes, website etc and just wish to be judged on our own merits.

If anyone has any concerns feel free to PM me.

Even if someone is on the same organisation as the previous c0ck up, dont they deserve a 2nd chance FFS, and valuable lessons may have been learnt anyway. Else there wont be any nice race up there for us to potentially enjoy. Have a heart folks, we're not trying to crucify someone here. Smile

+1 Thumbs Up

Back OT, so the IM is scheduled for May 12th - how warm is the water likely to be?

(And even if its cold, I can tell you umpteen simple ways to manage this after doing EnduroMan Deca and the Brutal at Llanberis - neoprene rash vest(s) under your wetsuit being the main one. ) Smile
