Country to Capital this weekend - did it 8 hours in 2013 hoping to get under 9 . Then off to New Zealand in Feb managed to sneak an entry into the Tarawara Ultra 104km (and also a Western States qualifier).

I'm doing C2C too, hopefully see you there.

The Tarawara sounds exciting. You're really doing some great running there POOkey

Has anyone ever done Race To The Stones which is in July? My cousin is currently trying to peer pressure me into it. I've had a look on the website and it looks like a well run event.

done it twice - really enjoyed it both times. Well run event. Nice to have checkpoints every 10km to break it up. Some stunning scenery.

A LOT of people do it so can be a bit frustrating at the start with a few bottlenecks but keeps the pace down when you are likely to be wanting to go faster (and probably too fast for an ultra).

Make sure you get there plenty of time beforehand as can be quite a jam on the roads to the start

Not cheap - if you wanted something cheaper and longer check out the Ridgeway 86 which is a smaller event but runs the full length of the Ridgeway - did this last summer and again a very good event

Country to Capital yesterday, undertrained and underfit, but managed to hold on to finish well within my time goal. No sign of my hamstring tendonitis or recent calf strain, so all looks good for a proper return to ultra.

Anyone done Lakes in a Day ?

Happy with yesterday's C2C.

Always learning. Died over the last 5 miles. Not through lack of energy, more from motivation. It was dark and I was running alone (which is normal).

There were other runners with whom I could have linked up but their pacing was slightly faster than mine and their walk breaks more frequent. I should get up t their speed and use the company to motivate my mood.

Lesson for me to take into The Oner!

Good to catch up with Doug and Lex. Good luck to both on this years' challenges
