Not a great week for me last week, struggling to get over the cold I had, but got a bit of running in, including 20:01 for a parkrun without hammering myself.
Also managed 44k on the bike on Saturday despite the wind, quite enjoyed it after struggling to get out on the bike recently.
Didn't get much swimming in.
The cold has generally gone, it's mostly the sinuses and still coughing a bit, was wheezing as well, but used my inhaler which has helped.
Actually entered another triathlon as well, Yorkshireman 70.3. It's only about 50 miles from home so might as well do it, didn't fancy the full.

I've retired from Ironman
It's on tier 4 entries now, I might have accidentally browsed the site last night. Just not sure I can be naffed with all the long sessions again.
Was planning on waiting until next year when I'm in M50

If it makes you feel any better I'm doing it and planning on one longest bike of 5 hours, one longest run of 2 1/2 and one longest swim of 4.2km ....
You'll find me near the back of the pack....

With all that training I'd expect at least 10:30

Last Outlaw I did was £225!
Not sure how much the 2019 event is, as it's sold out...

It was £299 I believe. Not much cheaper than the opening £385 of IMUK.

7:45hrs this week.
3x Trainerroad turbo sessions (3.5hrs) and then some commuting on top.
1 swim 45mins steady
3 runs. 1x8km 1x2km treadmill brick. 1x 1km. (Not sure that counts!)
Came off my bike on Thursday and my ribs are pretty sore, which meant no second swim or long run (and why my run home on Friday was 1km as that’s when the bruising flared up.)
This week is meant to be a higher volume one but I guess I’m going to have to focus more on the bike and see how I heal up. Swimming’s definitely out at the moment but hopefully by the weekend I can get going in the pool again.

Ouch! That's a bit poop
Training last week was impacted by the weather and my hatred of the turbo.
Add to that a hand injection causing me to faint, then felt like poo all day Thursday and couldn't move my hand enough to train by Friday, so another abandoned day (probably didn't help by fettling with the commuting bike)
Ran a bit on Saturday and Sunday with the dog.
Then I trapped a nerve and my neck and left arm are now a disaster zone.
Abandoned a swim 1.5km in this morning, had an allergic reaction to deep heat and chlorine, leaving me looking like I've bad scarring. Should go down soon.

Ironman events are generally worth the premium over Outlaw; certainly all the Continental ones I've done, with their 100% smooth road closures and run courses that don't involve rowing lakes. The price gap between Roth & IM is also now less than €50 I think; not that I'm comparing Outlaw & Roth

That's why I'm doing the Outlaw and not IM France. By the time the Mrs had properly agreed for me to do it the price was prohibitive. Will sign up for next year as soon as I can.
OK week for me, just short of 10 Hrs with only my short gym session missed, but an even, solid week for S, B & R. TT bike on the turbo now.
