Are you using TTS4 to do that? I want to create a couple curses but havent got around to it and havent bought the google licence yet which allows street view.

i can help you with curses
nothing that complex...just taking a course profile and manually creating the slopes...

oh just in the Tacx app. You could try Golden Cheetah to do that for you. Can just load in the GPX file and it creates the "course" (not curse unless its the Bastion )

You can upload routes and ride them in Bkool too. It's available on the free version so no need to subscribe.

I've created routes in BestBikeSplit and uploaded them to Zwift as workouts.
Last one I did was the 70.3 WC Chattanooga course, where I put in my metrics and target wattage/%FTP and it created a ride and estimated the bike split, and used the course profile for target wattages in each section depending on gradient.
It's a bit of a mindf**k though, as you may be doing 270w climbing Lookout but the Zwift footage is of a flat ride.
Worked well though and the time estimate was pretty close; I'll do the same for next years IM Wales.

I've been researching smart Trainers, and it seems they are certainly not all created equally for third-party apps like Zwift. It looks like for Zwift to control the resistance on your trainer it must run off an ANT+ FE-C protocol. Lots of 'smart' trainers are only ANT+ and work with proprietry software, but not 3rd party yes? It looks like none of the Kurt Kinetic trainers including the 'Smart Control' actually run on ANT+ FE-C (Fitness Eqpt Control), and many others are the same. Quite a few of the Tacx trainers can have firmware updates for this though apparently.
Also, this Zpower virtual power, it must be so 'wet finger'. If that calculates off just a wheel speed sensor & cadence, without knowing what gear you're in or any force generated? I could just parachute straight-in now on my TT bike with a PM, but I do fancy the controllable trainer aspect, especially if it has an ERG mode for structured workouts. Plus I could use my road bike without buying another PM.
I'll probably just e-dope as well, and pretend I'm the weight of a 10-year old

I've got a similar set-up to what you describe.
I have a Powertap wheel which I leave in my road bike as, although swapping the wheel is easy enough, I wouldn't want to use the same tyre on the turbo.
So in the winter TT bike stays permanently on turbo. I've got a Bkool trainer which is Ant+FEC and I use Velo Reality for structured sessions in Erg mode and Bkool for real life routes.
I try and get out on the road bike at weekends which is all set up with the powertap ready to go. In the summer I pack the turbo away and use the road & TT bike, swapping the powertap as required. If the weather is crap I chuck either on the rollers where I can still do a session using the powertap.

The speed of the wheel is directly proportional to the power produced, gear and force doesn't matter at all. The resistance of the trainer (and wheel/drivetrain) will matter, so inaccuracy is in knowing the resistance curve of the trainer, and consistency will be impacted by how that changes with temperature and other environmental considerations.
No reason for it not to be consistent and accurate enough to be useful though.

A fat 10 year old, Zwift has a minimum weight of over 40kg's - which is why we do e-dope!

Thanks for that. I've been deliberating the whole smart trainer/training app thing for a while. I do like to research & discuss things to-death before I jump-in, as that seems to result in the best choices... much like when I was choosing a new endurance bike (I flippin' love my Canyon btw!).
It looks like some of the in-house apps from Tacx & Bkool have some interesting sessions too; really like the idea of actual video feed of courses.

We could organise a regular TT group ride on Zwift. Those are the ones which normally get me on the bike for longer rather than solo efforts round the island.

All I actually need to get going is a dongle for my laptop, and probably a lead to extend that? Can anyone recommend a good one for a Windows 10 PC & Power2Max set-up? Does it matter?

I've got an Elite Direto and an old Macbook Pro that has the old BT protocol, so I needed an ANT+ FEC thingy which I got from Amazon for about £10. It all works fine, no need fo extension, I put the Macbook on the coffee table about 2ft in front of the bike, no probs at all.
If I use my iPad, it all works via BT but I havent got a good way of mounting he iPad due to the TT bars. Maybe a music stand?

You could use an el-cheapo music stand but as we traffleets love spending money on gadgets, you could buy one of these
