it seems that most the hotels are already booked, possibly with 'hopefuls' who if they do not get their slot will give the rooms up-i hope!

Congratulations! What a great position for you to be in Cool I guess travel operators will have quite a few block bookings in on a permanent basis.

i can understand the WTC & traders booking we ll in advance but there seems to be such little choice that i can only guess athletes are also booking in advance just in case they get a place.
i could be wrong though

Congrats Snowie!

We've booked a condo via AirBNB - bloody expensive but waaaay cheaper than any hotels we could find. 1.5miles from the start, right on the ocean and located on Alii Drive.

you've done well there old bob, that is an ideal place, easy walking distance away on race day & just far enough from the hustle & bustle so you can relax but still feel part of the circus when you want - look forward to meeting you there.

Cheers. It's funny, this morning a number of my 'facebook memories' were from 2013 when I qualified at Bolton. As I had no expectation of qualifying it turned into a busy few weeks getting ready for a last minute holiday of a lifetime to Hawaii. Of course I had to get injured first - that's what happened to me both times. Ho hum. Either way I got out there, just about made it onto the start line and had an amazing time.

For those who are going to Kona this year for the first time embrace it, realise how fortunate you are to be there and have fun. I loved it.

I will go back there again one day. I just don't know when...
