I was going back in 2018 - but a time lingers on and memories of a great fortnight this year keep coming back.............

Me too...have arranged with work to have the week off before - this year arriving a day and a half before the race didn't work out.
Have also "talked it through" with my wife - so that's two things sorted Very Happy
Just waiting for cheap flights to be released and I'll enter after that.

Loved my trip this year, enjoyed all 11 hours and 11 minutes of the race but I feel I need to find a different event for 2017. Decided after visiting Lanza every year since 2007 that I'm having a year off (although I've only done the ironman out there once). Maybe 2018 Wink

I am hoping to race Lanza 2017. What time of year does this race normally sell out?

I don't think it does sell out. You could get a slot right up until May this year.

Flights booked, apartment booked, save entering the race until just before the price rise I guess, or if the pound goes on a surge.

We're doing the opposite next year, arriving on the Thursday night and having the holiday afterwards. That timing worked the first visit. Failure this year due to illness so just need to avoid the human race for a few weeks before Smile
