I like the travelodge which is about 5 min crawl from the finish. Given the split transitions no matter where you are there is an element of faff. For me accomodation being closer to the finish has the better advantage.

Rooms are not released until back end of August though - they are fairly cheap intially but obviously go up once people start booking

Anybody has any alternatives though I would be happy to consider!!

Really hoping to make my return and go faster than 2013. Just need to get the funds together.
I'll be staying at home as I only live about 20 minutes away.

Don't know about doing this again. Hard to make a commitment right now.

I stayed at the Mercure in Haydock, just fifteen minutes drive from the swim start worked out well. You have to drive from the finish to T2 after the race anyway, and it's dual carriageway back to Haydock from there. Better to call the hotel for a price than use hotels.com.

Might be coming back for my 10 year anniversary. IMUK Sherborne 2007... seems like a lifetime ago.

Rooms were so cheap in 2014 that I got an extra one for me on the night before the race so the family wouldn't keep me awake...

I'm very tempted - having completed Wales and Lanza, this one looks like it could be interesting.

I'm going to be doing Lanza (May 20th) in 2017 again, so I'm wondering whether 8 weeks is sufficient to recover for Bolton? I'm not expecting Bolton to be my main focus, and I'm a completer rather than competer, so considering whether to do both...

Tempting...

I've booked Bolton and Wales for this year. Going to Kiln Park with the family in Tenby. As yet, I'm still looking for places to stay in Bolton as I'm on my own. The Premier Inn near T2 is just over 280 for 2 nights and that doesn't include breakfast Hungry

I think near T2 is best as I've read in this years athlete guide they provide a bus to the lake on race day and a bus from the finish back to T2.

Need to book sooner, but it's a lot of money to sleep..!!
