I was going to give my tritalk trisuit an airing for this event so had a practice swim in it under my wetsuit at Shepperton lake on Monday. When I got out and stripped my wetsuit off to cycle home the elastic on both legs had gone, so I now have a trisuit with bell bottom legs. Crying or Very sad I do have another trisuit but the padding's carp. Thinking I might wear it and put my comfy bike shorts over the top or other alternative is full ski suit for the bike. Think it might take me half an hour to get it on when wet though. Yes, I should have sorted all this out weeks ago but I am fully embracing the 'winging it' method of tri preparation.

My number is 1064, but I already know from my aches and pains after training just how old I am! Wink

Had a pretty solid 6 months of training, designed to finish without serious drama and pain. No more no less.

Just want to get started now!!

Will be in my TriTalk top on the bike, for old times sake Very Happy

Now, this is important people. If you've done this event before, do you get a rucksack at registration, and is the quality good? I don't want a wasted journey to Nottingham next week Wink

Gotta love the FB groups.

Sorry to break this to you, but no rucksack. I'd pull out if I were you and head to Bolton this weekend, they do rucksacks there

You present a compelling point.

I personally however, see little point in (technical fabric) collared Finisher shirts, so I was actually pleased to see Frankfurt had crew neck ones 2 years ago - so you can train in them. I generally turn-up at events in plain clothes; should I leave the Ironman FB group now?

Relax guys, in 2015 we received a bag and shirt which I think was collared but I've got so many I forget which are which....

No need for transfers, even though I would understand if you wanted to if you were not getting a bag....can you imagine getting to the pool without an iron distance branded bag! People might think you were there to enjoy the pool!

Sorry to break this to you too, not sure the T-Shirts will be collared this year. No collar on the Outlaw Half T-Shirts

I have circa 10-11 IM branded bags in the loft. Most still have the free goodies in them.

Anyone for a 2009 IM Austria Gel? Theres probably a bar or two in there too.

Maybe I should pop them down the the charity shop.

The Powerbar gels won't have got any more disgusting over that period either.
