A week earlier. I see the date for Weymouth hasn't been announced yet; the website says 'opening soon' but no sign of it on the events home page. Like I said on the Weymouth thread...interesting.

Hmmmmmmm. They can't both be on the same weekend, maybe Weymouth will take up the 'week later' slot?

Or revert to a 70.3 race only

The Weymouth 70.3 has already been announced as 17 Sept. Full distance is still showing as "opening soon".

I thought 900 entrants for the full distance IM was pretty darn good in todays crowded market.
The Brutal Extreme IM is also the week after Wales, 16-18 Sept, with a Triple this year too , as well as the increasingly popular Single and half. And Double of course.

I can't see them getting support to stage two separate events on different dates in Weymouth; the full will be same day as the 70.3 or not happen imho.

Hmm, that's a bit of a PITA then, if it was Weymouth 70.3 then IM Wales I was tempted by a little tour.
Can recover from a half to have a go at Wales a week later, but wouldn't have a good 70.3 one week after a full IM (I'm not TC!)
If the 2018 world's do end up in Budapest or Nice there could be a few slot hunters, I would go to either of those.

Where did that rumour appear?

Probably announced any time now, don't fancy South Africa though.

A southern hemisphere race would need a major change of date, wouldn't it?

I'm in, Kiln Park booked. Been on the radar since that first year. The plan is to actually train for an Ironman but get back to me in about 11 months on that.
