I can remember my heart being in my mouth in the minutes leading-up to online registration opening back 8-9 years ago! Ironically, back in 2007, Roth took a few weeks to sell-out when I entered; now it's the only one to sell-out in minutes. They have got something right there, plus there is only one Roth.

IM have started tiered pricing to try and entice people in earlier, but it doesn't seem to be working, for the sake of 15-30. But that's what happens as you increase the choice of races.

11:36 for me, 1:33 swim (so no fisticuffs in the canal by the time I got there), 5:45 bike and 4:07 run. Conditions were perfect I thought, and the support as always there was superb. Most notable feature for me is that the course has been lengthened to nearer what it should be - the first out and back section on the bike is now longer which brought it up to 178.5km, and the Krumpendorf end of the run has a new loop which now makes it just about bang on 42.2km - we may have seen the last of the "World Records" at Klagenfurt

^^ yes, the extra out & back on the bike added about 5 min to my time vs the original bike course.

Sold out for 2018 except for Nirvana places. Seems that the demand is still there, though I do remember in 2007 I think it was having to stay up and enter online at midnight because it had sold out by breakfast.

Yep looking like the second non-wetsuit swim in 3 years; that could put quite a few people off entering in the future. It won't be as hot is the infamous 2015 edition though; if it's under 100 degrees it's child's play Very Happy

I've still got the burn lines from 2015. I'm not sure anything will beat that. Horrendous.
