Got a new 735XT, so yet more widgets to play with! I can now turn-on the wrist HRM when I go to bed, and it'll measure my HR for the next 4h and I can see how low it goes. 38 Last night.

Training wise, not bad last week (just shy of 11h). Commuted in 4 days, but a family weekend away, so just 45 min of Zwift yesterday evening, despite feeling pretty jaded.

You might need to use the alarm function for some late night blood thinning cardio if that carries on...

Soooo..

8 days in the sun in Crete - has seen my numbers for swim and run increase dramatically

Run wise - 4 * 4-5 mile runs... (every other day) - which is more mileage than the whole of July / August and first 10 days of September added together

Swim - 5 Sea swims. No wetsuit - just trunks, goggles and the GPS watch - over 11K in total

No Cycling - the "hire" shop was closed all week due to "circumstances beyond their control" - plus I didn't have the feel for the roads out there.. looked a bit dicey! (and hilly)

IM Barca in 2 weeks. What could possibly go wrong?!!

Long overdue FTP test yesterday, and the numbers are up 24w Cool Pleasing given when I last tested in the Spring, I'd been doing a lot of intervals & racing on Zwift. I can only imagine the (spirited) commuting on a 'tank' that started again with my new job, has done the trick! Nothing awesome, just 249>273w, but that's getting very close to 4w/kg now for me, in my weakest discipline.

Just over 13h last week, biggest training week since last summer (if you don't count May when I did a 405km Audax). I felt pretty tired by Friday, but I guess that was the FTP test still in my system. Felt pretty good getting out in the crappy weather yesterday morning; no such thing as bad weather...

21.1K (1:56) run Sunday

so a circa 5:30 HIM albeit with a 14 hour T2 Laughing

Finally managed to get back into some kind of training the last couple of weeks. It's needed with Ibiza ETU Middle on the horizon.

Managed 9hrs two weeks ago (2:20 swim, 5:40 bike, 1:00 run) and then another 9hrs this past week (2:30 swim, 3:40 bike, 2:50 run).

Last week should have been higher, but I just had nothing come Saturday's planned bike ride. I was meant to do the club ride but bailed, and then tried to do a turbo and had to can it.

I am feeling rather flat in general, and relatively little volume compared to what I was doing a month or more ago, is leaving me knackered. But then I guess I've hardly run at all in over a month, and reintroducing that will take its toll as the most fatiguing discipline, and I have been ill as well.

The other weeks post IM were only 3hrs, 5:30hrs, and 3:30hrs.

Feeling happy training today

Just did my morning run.
Nice half marathon as 9:00 run / 1:00 walk.
Got round in 1:45 (and six seconds), Run parts at 4:47/km.

Thatís quicker than Iím intending to run my 5KM at this Saturday.
Tired legs by then (56km 48*17 fixed Commute tomorrow) means Iíll probably keep my pace at 4:50/km...

...post run (dehydrated) weight was 185lbs, lowest Iíve been in about two years. Thatís 24lbs gone now...only another 24 to go 😏

Training has just about finished for me, did a few swims last week, long hilly bike ride, about 4.5 hours then not much until the weekend when I did the 50M TT and sneaked a sub-90 HM on the Sunday morning which I was quite pleased with after battering myself the morning before.

In Chicago for the marathon this weekend so only a couple of swims and 5k on the treadmill this morning.

Was only going to jog the race on Sunday, 3:25-3:30 pace, but.. Boston 2020 closes on 3:20, but more likely 3:15ish which might be achievable, but I've got a race the weekend after so don't want to batter myself too much.

I've been running with a 'runner' friend for the past 2 weeks and I got caught up in trying to stay with him a bit today. Ended up with a 75 min run with only 19 minutes in Z1 or Z2 and at the end was struggling to get home up the hills from the trails.

Not really good training Shocked
Fortunately it is massage night tonight.

Ha, that pretty much sums up what will happen, why don't I just go off at sub 3 pace, it wasn't too bad for 13 miles last week Smile

Managed to shed some fatigue and most of my Cold before my Sprint yesterday. Came 2nd O/A and second Vet! It was pretty cold yesterday, but lovely & sunny. I clearly rode hard (27km bike), as my legs were sore afterwards, despite a marshalling cluster meaning the run was only 3.5km in the end! Shame I couldn't have been in better shape, but hey-ho.

Time to focus on the Big Dance now Very Happy
