I did my longest ride since Outlaw on Sunday morning. It was just over 4h/1500m of climbing and cold. I've certainly felt the affects the last couple of days, being dragged around by someone who's KQ'd a few times in recent years and is a sub 5h rider. Probably need more of it Very Happy

Sold my hybrid and I have a road bike and a clanky old MTB (about 20 years old), so no pretty much down to 1 functioning bike. In my case n=1 for the wife acceptance factor.

Edit: bike back, had a go at a ride using BingRingVR. Not bad at all but didn't keep me motivated like Zwift does.

Rosie
I would have loved a bit of cold for my 2.5 hour static bike into 1.5 hour run.
Obviously those are the split times for 70.3s next year. Or as near as I can get.

The bike needs work.......
The run was 20.6k at 10 bpm under race pace so should be good.

Venturing out for a "jog" tomorrow, hope it's not minus 4 here.

Last week

Swim x2 (5450m)
Bike x3 (92km + 2 days commuting, 22km)
Run x3 (21km)

Tried the turbo/outdoor brick for the first time and picked the coldest day of the year so far on Thursday as I had a day's holiday. Only 15mins run but seemed workable even if I could have snapped my hair off when I got back.

3 swims - 6,400m
3 bikes - 146km
3 bikes - 48km

Total duration down again, this week to 11hrs. Swim and run volume up though. Reduction in training time mainly again a result of no commuting last week, plus the "long" ride being 35km shorter than the week before (had to faff with 2 flats Saturday morning before even leaving the house, so missed the club ride and had to do my own thing).

This kind of run volume is pretty unusual for me. Definitely the biggest shift since getting coached. I'm probably doing 70-80% of the volume I was doing in the spring when just marathon training. Which probably explains why I had such a shocker this year at VLM!

14:45 hours last week.
Two very easy ... stretching and core. Two a bit hard last hour of long brick session and 5 mins on/ off turbo work.
Less hours but mostly bike this week... even going outside!

Hoping for a consistent 3 week block now leading into Xmas after i pretty much took w/c 20/11 off to recover.

Last week was 6 x runs, 94km, 8hrs with 1,700m elevation gain.

Hoping for similar distance this week, but focussing on lots of climbing.
