It's been a funny old week so far, distinctly lacking motivation for no apparent reason.

Monday 7 mile run early morning, 1 mile pool swim pm
Tuesday strength and core
Wednesday 1 mile pool swim

Normally I bounce out of bed just before 4, sort the dogs then go out for a run or a turbo session. So far this week, nope! Monday was a day off work so went out around 7.

Really need to get my head back in the game.

Very little training done over the last 5 days as I appear to have a throat infection. Been feeling totally done in.

Looking at my training diary, I probably know why I've come down with something, basically I've overdone it!

Trained 14 days in a row without a rest day, not clever methinks Mad

Lesson learned.

This thread has my name written all over it!

Last year saw me do a full IM off circa 2 hours training a week. (Mallorca in 12:33)

This year - so far

Swim - 4.5K
Bike - 82 miles
Run - 35 miles

With Outlaw full in 13/14 weeks.

Have just booked a week in Lanzo to try and do some training - if I can get out every day and do "something" then I might get chance to make the start line

IM on 2 hours a week...... is that a typo?

Decent time too.

Imagine what you could achieve on 12?

If you have a base - as is the case here- then you can do an ironman on little or no training....

JC
I got the extensive heritage but 2 hours a week.....

Your not getting best outcome, you may well finish.

So zero hours for 6 months then full distance....... disaster surely.

absolutely, you won't "do well" for sure...in fact, i did one off no training for two years (apart from a 2k swim to ensure i wouldn't be a risk for myself or others) and it wasn't my happiest day of 'racing' but i got round...

i did much, much better off 15 hours a week a few years ago Smile

Still suffering the after effects of a cold from 4 weeks ago! Slowly but surely going away.

Well, I entered 2 sprint triathlons, didn't get to either of them. First one, was 75th on the waiting list. Second one.... the same! I really need to enter sooner!

On the plus side, I've got a 10k on the 18th June and the Glasgow Half Marathon on 1st October.

I will be pushing the submit button the minute Ironman Edinburgh opens for next year! No procrastination.
