Nothing wrong with that considering how much you increased last year with focus of getting up to a new target. Take a while to do whatever you enjoy, some basic exercise for general health will make it easier to build back up when the mojo is back. The 3-6 months after my Ironman were probably the least Iíve ever exercised, although thankfully had other life focus at the time. Took 12 months to decide Iím not a one and done, and want to do regularly.

Thanks for this, makes me feel a lot better about my lack of motivation.

Was just listening to the Trainer Road podcast and it rang true. Do what you can, but be consistent. It's not about hours or miles, just do it and get back in the habit.

It's all about consistency init. Last 3 months (Aug/Sep/Oct):

Swim: 34.5km/32km/29km
Bike: 860km/1054km/787km (not inc indoor rides)
Run: 85km/108km/104km

I think the school hols affected my run volume in Aug, and early Oct I had a Cold and a race, so tried not to over-do it. Those volumes look very average compared to full time athletes don't they!

You still got the workouts done.

My focus is now to get back in the habit. I love training, but I've got out of the habit. Time for that to change

Yep its my focus for November, small increases in overall volume but bigger increase in number of sessions. Aiming to get from 5/6 to around 8-10 sessions a week consistently ready to ramp volume next year.

Very little for me, relatively, for some time.

I tapered for the Middle Distance race in Ibiza, but that ended up being a bit of a write off, both in terms of the event itself and my performance. I was just not engaged after all the drama on the day of the race.

And then you add to that the fact I got ill. Got sat pretty much next to the most ill person ever on the flight out there, meaning I knew I'd get ill. Sure enough, 3 days later I felt the onset of a sore throat, and on the fourth day (which was also the middle distance race day) it was properly sore. By Sunday (day 5) I was hacking, almost certainly not helped by the fact I raced Saturday, and the conditions in which that race took place. Exercise has naturally been negligible since then, although I am finally beginning to get back to feeling normal.

So last four weeks can be summed up as:

W/C 08/10/18 (Prague City break Fri and Sat)
1hr swim; 3hrs30 bike; 3hrs30 run

W/C 15/10/18 (my last decent week of training with all green boxes)
1hr40 swim; 3hrs30 bike; 2hrs run

W/C 22/10/18 (race week including aquathlon on Wed and cut-bike HIM on Sat)
1hr30 swim; 3hrs40 bike; 2hrs15 run

W/C 29/10/18 (ill most of the week so everything I did do was v.low intensity)
1hr swim; 3hrs bike; 50mins run

Travelling a large part of this week, so next week is when it will have to pick up again properly for my final race of the year.
