Im not in a rush to get an aero helmet but theres a sale on at Ribble and these two seem good and cheap;

Catlike Chrono Aero Plus
http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/catlike-chrono-aero-plus-helmet/#pid=34367

Giro Advantage 2
http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/giro-advantage-2-helmet/#pid=28427

This'll be my first tt helmet, I understand head position is important - and believe I have my head up most of the time. I'll use it in 10TT BUT I'm only interested in a benefit for half and full distance tri.

My main concern is the amount I sweat, has anyone used either of these?

This is where your Slowtwitch research will pay-off. The Giro A2 is still considered the go-to safe choice for most people, if you can't test. Personally I've used it for nearly 10 years now (brief dalliance with the Specialized TT2) and I have no complaints. It fits my back perfectly, so I won't be looking elsewhere.

I used it in Frankfurt when it was 40 degrees, and I didn't suffer more than anyone else Laughing The actual physical affect of having a hot head is apparently psychosomatic to a large extent.

Poetry in motion....

That's not how I expected your helmet to look Jorgan.

Yeah I've seen some love for the A2, I think a lot of people switched to the Sworks Evade which I'd prefer if it wasn't so pricey.

At 67 for one of "yesterdays" best helmets, seems like a steal...hence the caution. Smile

I have an Evade too. I can see why it's popular, although I do find that there's quite a protrusion above the eyes, which makes me hyper-extend my neck more than other helmets, which is not a benefit! Obviously if you can stay in the aero position, it won't be as fast a the A2.

i have a Giro Ad 2...doesn't see much action these days...my Air Attack Shield covers most options...but if i was going to TT or do an easy bike course then I would bring it out again...

quite comfy and, like J's it suits my position on the TT bars...

Well it's on its way, so cheers. Will report once I've used it a few times.

Just need some Alien/HRGeiger decals now.

I was quite surprised at how cool an aero helmet is. I wore mine in 30+ degrees and it was absolutely fine - and I do sweat a lot.

Talking to a " fastman " Yesterday. 55 min 25 TT Specialist.

He was going on about the importance of fit, shoulders, back etc, but also a visor and how much these made a big difference especially if you dont wear shades?

Looking for a nre helmet at the min, nit convinced with ones I have now.

Jorgan.
Your position is good for tri guy, but you would need 380 watts + for sub 50 that high up.
?????
With you on it?

I am shocked at my own lack of decorum - it's black, just how Ron likes it.

I might strip the decals off, no luck finding an Alien decal yet though.

Looks like I'll be black from head to toe this season.
