to be honest a tidy up is all that's required with the news replaced by poster contributions, race reports etc. It wouldn't take a lot, Well maybe a bit of time but easy enough work to just cut out the dead ends. Have a fb page /group that links over here as well so fb'ers get directed to the old site.

Id like to get the kit reinstated also. Not only is it promoting the site /Team TT but all you see at races was TriTalk blue and the Pirate yellow in big groups. Made attending races alone (see how I link nicely there Wink ) much more fun as there was always a big group. Austria 70.3 in 2010 was a great weekend with car shares, TT bike ride the day before, TT drinks after etc. Same with many of the races, Forestman, Outlaw. There was even a TriTalkman in 2008! WE'll struggle to get those days back but it can always improve. Slowtwitch still gets plenty of traffic

Precisely, some streamlining is what's needed; cut away what doesn't get used like the news feed - I mean, I don't even read Triathlon news articles on Slowtwitch tbh. The Forum is the 'heart' of this site for sure. I think like many Forums, TT will just have to get used to operating as a smaller family. Tbh we get a lot less off-topic and biff nowadays, so it's not all bad.

Just read my PMs and I'm an Admin now. I always knew the fact anyway, but there are so many guest users on this site at any time, compared to registered users. It's trying to get these people to register and contribute. As long as there are people here training & racing, and gaining experience, then there are benefits to the site. There's a lot of knowledge even in the pared-down membership now.

it's the news feed that maintains the site ranking i would assume...but we could create our own for purposes of passage of info...

There's no really any other UK based triathlon forum out there(unless I missed it) so TT has got a reason for existing.

Is it possible to start from scratch and do a bit of a re-launch?

You'd have to move over all the old threads which is where the value in a forum like this is.

Yes, there are some belters for the big Ironman/Challenge events over the years, in that they provide a lot of local & racing info like the course and logistics, accommodation etc. I'm not going to be shy in saying that I think I've contributed loads in some of those threads over the years, and would be happy to continue to do so!

Just look at the length of some of those old Roth, IM Austria, Frankfurt, Bolton or Outlaw threads for example.

And I am happy to help newbie twenty stone plus people get into tri. I have proven that us fatties can complete marathons, duathlons and triathlons, admittedly I only got half way around imuk before I shoved into an ambulance, but hey ho.
