Have been away on another forum for a while. For many years I wasted loads of time on TT and still ride around in TT stuff. But I got bored with tris as a sport. Cost became a piss take, so I went off to do other things mainly MTBing and ultras.

Have popped in a few times and it seems SO quiet versus the early 2000s. is this a reflection of tri as a sport?

Taking a break from my other forum and need somewhere for some banter. Would be nice to see TT back to former glories.

Hello there! I immediately recognised your login from the days of old. We both joined in 2007 when TT was in full swing. I don't think it's a case of Triathlon participation waning, it's just the choise of Internet sites & social media now. I only joined FB in 2007, and tbh use it less now than I did in the early years. Now you have Twitter & Instagram too, where people like to raise their personal profile, rather than have discussions. That's fine I guess, but that sort of publicity or vanity is not for me.

There is an 'Instatriathlete' in my office; I honestly think when they look at the selfie screen, they don't see what the rest of the world does. It takes all sorts.

Hi Jorgan - yes you're a familiar face/name too. But gosh this is so quiet. Hardly anyone posting,it's like a ghost forum.

Wheezy,

No nothing planned - but might do 10k OW swim in Sep and some big bike rides. Lost the appetite for tris frankly and started to do more adventure races and ultras and more MTB.

SS - I don't forget your debates of old!!! Although forgot the symbolism of you avatar. But looks like you are keeping this going between a very small number of posters

yes my avatar, which used to really annoy another forumite.

It means in essence, truth/balance in life from the source, though you can interpret it in different ways. It came to me in Oxford University's Egyptian library.

Yes I am that sad!

I enjoyed seeing the Triathlonbox thread being resurrected!

What other classic threads do people have?

Well, there's the Koalafish one obviously. Then there was the Lonestar one about giving his dog mouthwash.
