As well as the Elite Junior World Championships, Friday's racing at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Edmonton, Canada featured the Age Group Sprint Distance World Championships. The Great Britain Age Group team collected a total of 13 medals: Two Gold, Eight Silver and Three Bronze. Sophie Coldwell finished fourth at the ITU World Triathlon Championships in Edmonton, Canada, in the elite Junior event.
